According to Wikipedia, a plank is an isometric core strength exercise that involves maintaining a position similar to a push-up for the maximum possible time.
Many plank variations exist, such as the kneeling plank, side plank and extended plank, but the forearm plank is commonly regarded as the most popular.

How to perform a Plank?
- Assume a push-up position on the floor, but instead of resting on your hands, bend your elbows and rest your weight on your forearms.
- Be sure to form a straight line from your shoulders all the way to your ankles. It may help to imagine a broomstick on your back making contact with your head, upper back and butt.
- Engage your core by contracting your abs.
- Hold for the required length of time whilst breathing naturally.
Useful Tips
- Elbows should be directly underneath shoulders.
- Both glutes and core should be engaged.
- Neck to be kept in neutral position and in line with the natural curvature of your spine.
